Nina Taduran: A Voice for Women & Public Service

“Tumutulong, umaaksyon, naglilingkod.” This is more than a favorite line for Usec. Nina Taduran—it is the very rhythm of her life in public service.

A proud native of Iriga City, Camarines Sur, Nina’s story is rooted in humble beginnings and a deep desire to help others. In 1997, she stepped into the world of broadcasting as the co-host of Raffy Tulfo. Known for his strong, barako personality, Tulfo’s style was bold and confrontational—yet perfectly balanced by Nina’s calm, soft-spoken, and empathetic presence. While he demanded accountability, she gave comfort and clarity. In that powerful contrast, Nina emerged as a steady voice for women and children—those who needed not just representation, but understanding. She showed that strength can be quiet, and that compassion can move people just as powerfully as authority.

This foundation naturally led her to public office during the 18th Congress, where she served as House Assistant Majority Leader. Carrying her advocacy into legislation, she championed and helped pass the Media Workers’ Welfare Act—a milestone that protected the rights and welfare of media professionals, a cause deeply personal to her.

Yet beyond titles and policies, Nina’s impact is felt most on the ground. Through her action center, she has continuously extended assistance to the poor and the sick, particularly in accessing healthcare. With the support of her partners in the healthcare sector, she has helped bridge gaps and bring essential services closer to those in need.

Her advocacy for healthcare and women empowerment remains unwavering—creating opportunities, amplifying voices, and ensuring that care reaches even the most vulnerable.

Looking ahead, Usec. Nina Taduran remains committed to serving the public—not only in office, but even in her personal capacity. For her, service is not a role—it is a lifelong calling.

“Tumutulong, umaaksyon, naglilingkod.” And through every chapter of her journey, she continues to live by it.
